Interlink posts with Insights WordPress Plugin – SEO

When I started this blog, I didn’t take much care about internal links. I used to write posts keeping all on page SEO tips in my mind, followed by the few backlinks on the related sites back to my post. In order to have a proper user navigation, I started having my posts in sidebar, I didn’t know that internal links play an important role in terms of search engine optimization, however I realized soon when my traffic increased a bit for the posts, I had in sidebar.

With the above experience  I got to know that internal link is one of the most important SEO factor which you must take care. Let’s not bore you with my initial days stories and few silly and novice experiments. I’m here to talk about a very useful WordPress plugin Insights.

Features of Insights Plugin

1) Search your own blog for the provided keyword and returns the best matches for the query so that you can interlink them in your post. For example If you are writing a post on “search engine optimization” and you wanna interlink few of your own posts based on this, all you have to do is give search for the term – search engine optimization. It will show the most relevant posts of your own blog for this term. Just click on the link and it will be inserted automatically to the post. See the screenshot –

2) Searches Google for your keyword just below your post editor in WordPress. You don’t need to go anywhere to have a related external link from your posts for users. Also, having an external link for the related content adds an extra advantage to your post in terms of seo. Refer screenshot-

3) Everybody is comfortable to link with Wikipedia because of their brand, trust and quality content. Instead of searching the whole web for your desired content, you can search Wikipedia specifically and place an external link to the content, which is relevant to, what you are writing. You can do so just from your WordPress editor as shown below –

4) Search for Images, Videos, News, blogs and Books – As you can already see in the above screenshots that apart from myblog, Google & wiki their are other options to select such as Flickr images, YouTube videos, Google maps and more. You can explore these options, once you have this plugin installed on your blog. I prefer to use this plugin for above mentioned three features.
